My first bronco turned out to have a big problem... the PO had welded the oil plug to the pan. No changie the oil=big problem. All the shops around here wanted close to $1500 to replace said oil pan. Thanks to the members we had on here at the time for enabling me with the insight and knowhow. I did it myself and my best friends help for the parts alone... a little over two hundred in parts. ACtually it was more but we went ahead and start replacing a few other things to, figured why not since we were there.

1500 vs. 200 in costs. the 200 wins everytime. So what if I pay 16 or the 3yr 45. I get the tshirt, the bumper sticker, and a great support cast.

Howdy posted how Ken didn't want the money early on and doesn't really ask for it now.. others do. Well I met Ken at the rally last year, he's a great guy. KEn loves FTE. I wish most of you could have been there for our late night talks and antics. it would explain a lot. Thats why I pay my $45 every three and voluteer a bunch of my time as a moderator

Shoot! i don't even have a Ford truck right now ( would like to remedy that) but yet I still keep coming. Thank god and Ken that this is FOrd truck Enthusiasts and not ford truck owners. Is there a former ford truck owners site. lol

Nope. We don't see it at all (unless we hover over the signature in the top right hand corner of your post).

Although I don't have to, I pay anyhow. Ken's good folk and the cost of keeping this site up with the volume it sees is not trivial.

I just try to help the best I can.

Silly boy.

It's super cool to see all the supporters sharing their reasons why. Only about 3 replying non members though.

Darn. Maybe they're all busy purchasing their memberships AS WE SPEAK!!

a girl can dream....
Silly boy, trucks are for girls. (Been a while since I've seen that here. What ever happened to the girl that used that all the time? Seems like I saw that saying here on the site way before I saw it on a bumper sticker.)

We've had threads before, where someone tries to get the lurkers to post. It rarely works. If they don't post, they don't usually become supporters. I guess they come for the tech info on the site, and work on their trucks the rest of the time. Who knows how many threads they read. Some threads may have 20-30 views/post; someone is clicking on those threads. Many members might have been here 2 or 3 years, but only have 5 or so posts. They come on a lot just to read and learn, but don't feel like posting or paying. I think that's OK, they pay by viewing the ads. Sometimes they have to get really mad before they post. Maybe bribery would help.

Here's the deal: The first person to post in this thread, with 2 or more years as a member, but has never been a supporter, and has fewer than 25 posts - will get a year w/supporter tag on FTE from me. Post and I'll support ticket the admin - PayPal is a click away. Don't even have to type much, 8 or 10 periods will kick off the filter. Offer's good through 8/6/06.

Edit: Anyone that wants to send a few PMs off from the member list - that's fine. Many out there fit the criteria.

Hey, that's nice of you Howdy.

I think the lady hit the nail on the head. Why are they still not clubfte members? Unless money really is that tight, which i understand, then they should be. I had to put mine off for a good 6-8 months because I literally didn't have $16 to spend. I'm glad I finally tripped over it though.

Part of it was the fact that when i found this site i was not too sure about what was going to happen with my truck and how good this site really was. I now know that it is worht the investment, BUT, me no have a credit card or any udder way of paying over a distance. otherwise, i am for sure in. great site.

I never realized that it only cost $16. That's why I haven't done it yet. But, $16 or $69.50/hour at the dealer, I think I can spare it. This site has saved me gobs of money and Ken has done a great job here and asks for so little in return. I guess I'll have to sign up this week.

Up on the top bar, (Home, Forums, Galleries, etc.), over on the right is Misc. Scroll down to Club FTE and click. Then click on join and there's a phone number to call.

You know, my biggest gripe with FTE is that it keeps me from working when I should be working. It is a distraction that I let get out of control. I spend more time reading than posting.

Now, BroncoBabe, I am posting my comments here because I think instead of starting a new thread, your question fits my answer.

I came here for one reason and one reason only. I needed help with my truck. Well, I got help with a few problems. What I found is that I spend more time in non-truck related areas getting to know yuz.

I have found help and support in my own life, through others. I have learned that the people who come to FTE are just that. People. We struggle with one of life's curve *****, the people on FTE can help. The thing-a-ma-job on the hoozie-what just broke. FTE can help.

I/we have seen others come here for help and support and guess what, we got it.

That my freinds is called a community. It is worth every bit of the $15.00 or $16.00 bucks to be a member.

BroncoBabe, you mentioned the area non-supporters do not see. That area is deep, freindly, jovial, helpful............ family in a strange sort of way.

My thoughts. Thank you for opening this thread.

the only reason im not a supporter is because i have no credit card, i searched for a way to send a money order or cash but didnt find anything.

i did try to convince my mom to take cash from me and then use her credit card to pay, but shes real nervous about sending her credit card info over the internet.

if anyone knows of a way to become a supporter without a credit card please let me know. I am trying to live a credit card free life becouse i enjoy not being $10,000 dollars in debt.
