I bought the excursion that you guys were giving me advice on last week.
It is in great shape
I drove it back from Atlanta to VA and got over 19 miles per gallon with the AC on. I kept the RPM's under right at about 2000. The roads in Atlanta are really hilly and it did get.
I drove 120 miles through VA and the computer showed me getting 21.5 MPG.
I just wish I could have got one sooner.
I received all the records from day one. She only used Redline synthetic oil.
The original tow hitch plug-in adaptor is in its original plastic. I really believe the tow hitch has never been used
I think I got a great deal. Clean 2000 Limited 4x4 147,000 miles diesel $13,500
I really can't believe that a vehicle as big as it is get 20 miles per gallon highway

Sounds like the one I bought. Great if you got the maint records. First things I had to do were new tires and full under body inspection of brakes suspension and alignment. Then new fuel filter, oil change, air filter. If you have the records then you know your starting point. Your mpg is about where mine is. Jim

Sounds like you got a great deal and the fuel mileage is good too.
Good luck with the Excursion. I've had an 02 and an 05 diesel and if Ford does not build them in the future guess I am just gonna have to keep the 05 for a long, long time. BEST vehicles I've ever owed. There is nothing else out there that even comes close. Hell the new Tahoes/Sububans look like compacts next to the Ex.
