drop I beams?

What is the demand for drop beams for 65/79. If dropped beams are not popular, why? I have a friend with a big CNC who currently does axles for early Fords and I may give him a set of I beams to do. Any info would be appreciated!

Thanks
Wayne

drop I beams?

Me and a guy I work with got into a discussion the other day about when Ford first came out with twin I beams; I said 1965 and he said 1963. Do you happen to know the answer??

Post drop I beams?

If your friend makes the dropped I-beams, what would he want for a pair?

Yet to be determined. I will tell you this. Because of how small he is, he sure would be less than some of the other companies. His 40 Ford axle was featured in one of the street rod magazines last year. I guess by the reponse, I should assume there could be a market for these. I am going to pull a set out of a doner so he can copy them and add the drop. He is like a starving artist looking for ideas! Thanks for the replies!

If you do manage to swing getting a supplier set up for these, be forwarned; you have to be an authorized vendor to advertise them here on the boards. Have a chat with the Webmaster for more details. Here's a link to talk to him; [link:www.ford-trucks.com/advertise/advertising_info.html|Advertising Info]

Thanks for the help! Since he is in business already, I would not do it any other way nor would he. I just wanted to see what the need is for this or any other custom made part. I will forward your information to him.

Thanks
