Exhaust, Intake, chip, short throw shifter, trim out the inside and outside, clear corners, headlights, tailights, new rims, tires, lift, lower, engine swap. There's an amazing array of stuff.
First things first, what year, model, engine, tranny do you have? Rear end ratio? 2WD or 4?
Tint, alarm, class III receiver hitch, raven camper top, 8"x15" steel/black wheels, BFG 31x10.50x15 Mud TA's, slight adjustment to the torsion bars, Rancho RS 5000 shocks, K & N FIPK, Flowmaster Mufler and re-routed tail pipe to allow clearence for full size spare tire, Bama Programmer (the torque program seems to be the best, solid pull through the entire rpm range in comparison to the stock and HP programs), Custom made pre-runner bumper (from Off-Road Unlimited in Houston, TX) and skid plate (still have to add some light tabs and then a pair KC daylighters..just need a little more $$$). Ok thats where I am at.
I am presently looking at some difrent rear tube type bumpers and trying to decide what I am going to do there. Also considering dropping a lock-right in the rear...but waiting to decide if I am going to lift, bump up to 33" tall tires, if I go that rout I will be re-gearing to 4.88's (I have 4.10's right now).
Don't ever ask this question again, typing everything I have done scared the he!! out of me....but the it's turned out to be a decent build-up, tows my boat really well, is awsome in the sand, and handles rather well on the road as well.

Wendell - what do you think of your tru-track? Got a friend with one, I have watched it climb hills and driven it some in the sand, and I had a lock-right in my previous ranger. What's your thoughts on the two difrent diffs??? I mean the tru-track does act like a locker when you clamp it anyway??? Have you had both, any prefrences?

You put that 454 in there I wanna be there Alan, man I love that engine. The 'vette and the old Silverado both had one. Drool drool drool.
Wendell I know you've been having some PM problems, so I'm just gonna post this for all to see. The level 2 shifter you got, any idea if it'll fit the earlier years? Say, oh I dunno, '94?
91 Ranger 2.3 5 speed 2wd 3.45's (who came up with that ratio!?)
Mods.... hmmm. Many, Many, Many, Many oil changes. She had tinted windows when we bought er. Other than that... I got nothin haha. I've probably spent more in oil changes than most of you have in intakes and exhaust systems hahahaha.
ive got a warn grill guard, westin tube steps (both in black) matching fiberglas cap, 2" receiver hitch, rebuilt M5OD trans, have a hurst shifter on order-almost 3 months now (cant find one in stock anywhere, just talked to jeg's today, there thinking another month, ive e-mailed mr gasket co. the mfg, but im about to give up and cancel my order and get some manual hubs from summit.) next im needing to get some new tires, winter might be here before you know it, even if it did hit the high 90's today. mine is a '93 s/c ranger 4.0 4x4 5-spd with 3.73s stock 235/15 tires and 95,000 miles gets 17-19 mpg on my daily 24 mile round trip commute.
look in my gallery, its hard to see, but its there. ordered it through either advance auto or autozone, im thinking advance. was around 200-something i think. the beaty of it is that you can put a winch mount in the middle of the brackets, or a front hitch receiver or a tube with light tabs to mount lights. its a warn trans4mer. only kind i could find for this truck. i had a hickey tube products g.g. on my '88 but i think that company has since gone out of bussiness.
Handyman, does there come a point where you rebuild the truck, or what? lol
One would think, but I can't bring myself to take her off the road for more than 3 days to do major rennovations to it haha. I love that truck. Last time I let it sit for a week I drove it and felt so bad that I abandoned it haha. Maybe if I build up enough trust in my Contour, I will take my Ranger off the road. Until then, I will keep anybody who makes 10W40 oil in business.
