Ok, Blending 50/50 is bad, b/c "Blending it with any petroleum product or by-product is not a good idea because the two will seperate"

Ok, got that. Thats talking about using it in PSD's, But what about using it in 300hp Cummins Dump Truck 89ish. Also running it in 95* weather, burning most of the blend out that day, adding say 25 gallons of dino before you shutdown, then the next AM add 25 gallons of WVO???

Then burning that out that day, I Burn about 40-50 gallons a day. Per truck

Don't get me wrong I'm building a Processer, small one 30-40 gallons a day, but I need more fuel per day @ 5miles to the gallon!!!

Thanks Bobby

Mixing WVO is flat not a good idea.

If you want to burn WVO convert the truck and run straight WVO with startup and shutdown on either Dino or Bio.

No matter what you do the VO will seperate from the diesel, its a matter of physics and you cannot change those laws.

After seperation you will be running what ever layer the fuel pickup is drawing from. If it happens to be VO startup will be a problem. Additionally running cold VO is very likely to damage your engine.

I dont know what conversion will be necessary for the 89 Cummins. I believe the IDI internationals are a little more tolerant of unheated VO but you will have to ask some one that has experience with it.
I suggest LESKWVO

RDCF2507.3 I have been running a blend for 1 1/2 - 2 years now with no problems. My potential loss is a $2500.00 1989 F350 4x4 7.3 5-spd. I would definitely have a different point of view if my "TEST TRUCK" was a $40,000.00 2006 PSD. The small potential loss has allowed me to experiment with blends. Disregarding warnings from others I took a neutral point of view and investigated (via the internet) used motor oil and filtered vegtable oil. Through this investigating and my "short" personnal experience this is what I see: 1.) Filtered vegtable oil mixed with diesel (using my eyes) remains mixed. Maybe it is not mixed at a molecular level but the mixture I put in a clear glass jar did not separate like vegtable oil mixed with water. 2.) Used motor oil can definitely be used as fuel ADDITIVE in diesel engines. It is a common practice in large truck fleets to burn used motor oil as a maintenance cost reduction. Some of them use a system called Centinel Oil Management which delivers used motor oil from the crankcase directly to the fuel tank. It's done slowly and over many miles, but it's done and these engines cost a little more than my $2500.00 clunker.

One thing to remember is the older trucks with the IDI system will allow for large variance in fuel types. Where as the newer electronic injection is very intolerable to any variance in fuel.

What has been your blend %'s? I would like to go with a 50/50, Today I burned 40 gallons. Thats 2.98 x 40 = 119.20. I would rather see 60.00 bucks coming out of the pocket.

Also I'm going to get a laser temp gun, and check the temps, @ the inside the fuel tank (fuel), @ the fuel filter, ( right next to the engine ), and @ the injection pump.
I just want to see how warm it gets!!
