Insulating auto transmission cooler lines?
I was talking to a guy with an 03 Excursion 6.0 that said he got his transmission to run about 40 degrees cooler. He said he achieved this by separating the transmission cooler lines from each other and slipping a strip of insulation between them. furthermore, he also added a shield between the exhaust and cooler lines.
Has anyone here with a transmission temperature gauge tried this? If so, what were the results?
