I went to clean my MAF sensor today, but couldn't locate it. All I see is the IAC and what appears to be a TPS (throttle position sensor). Does a 2000 model V10 have MAF? If so, where is it. I'm assuming brake cleaner and a gentle scrub with a Q-tip will suffice for cleaning once I have ity out.
Right past the air cleaner housing going towards the engine. I clean mine with starting fluid it removes any oil/dirt build up and I dont use a q tip at all. Just let it dry before starting.
On my 2001, it is buried inside the air cleaner housing.
Take the air filter out, disconnect the big hose going to the throttle body, and remove the air filter housing (the part towards the engine). Disconnect the wiring harness, there's a plug right there on the fender well.
After that, the inside of the air filter housing comes out and the MAF is inside there. To remove the sensor, you need an anti-tamper torx bit (the ones with the hole in the middle to match the pin in the screw).
Sorry I can't be more specific, I can't remember exactly how the inner housing comes out of the shell.
Thanks! Found it in what I'll call the downstream half of the air filter housing. I didn't unplug it or get it out of the housing, but I was able to hose it with electronic parts cleaner from both sides.
