no start....

i got a 78 f-150 ranger, with a 400, i just charged the battery to full, tightened up the cables, turned the key an all i hear is clickin for a couple seconds n then the juice is gone......somebody please tell me what the hells goin on???????!@@##@#$^^%&^

Most probably : The Battery is shorting within itself.

How did you charge it..with what... how long ?

Did you clean the cable and battery connections ?

Battery cable can corrode under the insulation, so look there are well.

Just take the battery to a battery test center to verify its condition.

Agreed, check that the battery is truely good before you go any farther.

Check all the connections, not just for tightness, but make sure that the mating surfaces are clean metal. There are eight connection that you have to check: Battery + to solenoid, solenoid to starter, battery - to ground, and engine to chassis ground.
