i hate to admit it but i bought one about 4 years ago for my 01 s/crew f 150 4.6 and it did nothing for my mpg's, maybe even lost alittle due to it restricking the airflow, after about 3 or 4 months i deposited it into the recyle bin. 69.99 down the drain

One of my co-workers bought an 05 GMC 2500 Pickup this year with the 6.0 Vortech motor. The truck was used, but looked like new. He couldn't believe how slow it was and how much gas it used. When he was putting in a K&N air filter, he saw that it had the Tornado in the intake duct. He took it out and picked up a small amount of power, but gained 1 mpg. Any obstruction in the intake can never improve performance.

i read in popular science about it they tested a bunch of things to improve gas mileage and they said that is was a bunch of bs basically and that it most cases the "tornado" actually made your gas mileage worse although i dont know how but yeah

It basically has the same concept as a throttle body spacer ( to be totally useless ). It is to give a whirlwind effect to the intake air which is supposed to speed the air up going into the plenum. If you guys have purchased a Tornado brand shiny finned thing, they do say.....If not completely satisfied, return for a full refund.

To do it right, buy an aftermarket throttle body.

Just my 0.02........Iric

I was watching 20/20 or one of those news shows a couple of weeks ago and the Tornado was on there along with a couple of other gas mileage enhancers/increasers including some $200 bottle of some chemical (forgot what it was) that you pour in the gas tank. The interviewer was telling the manufacturers that they ran tests and that their products didn't work at all while the manufacturers were defensive and kept saying they had their own test results (many of which were outdated) that proved otherwise...Then they went around to various performance car shows and drag races and asked people their opinions of the products. Almost everyone said the products were junk...(there was only one guy who claimed otherwise...)

I watched them install this thing on Two Guys Garage a few weeks ago. I amost fell out of my chair. The confidence rating of that show definately went down the tubes after that pitch. I guess 'Turdnado" must pay them some "Sponser Bribes."

I agree. However, intake spacers work well. Especially on a 5.0 mustang.
