I'm currently a 2002 7.3 PSD owner and have an opportunity to buy a 2005
350 6.0 PSD. It is DWD, LB, Tow Boss, Lariat, etc...
Price is below $36,000 with less than 15K miles. The owner has lowered a few times. From what I have looked at, this seems reasonable. I was told no extended warranty, so that may not be so good. I need to check what I can do from Ford, if anything.
Any advice on things I should check for sure before buying? I'm waiting to get the VIN to run service. He stated only one service on front bearings. No other issues
I want this bigger tow capacity as I plan to upgrade to a larger trailer and a buddy has the same truck and loves it.
I would like to know if this is a good deal, or should I wait for the new trucks in 2008 or after. It's not a do or die that I upgrade today. It just seems tempting
I'm on the fence and would appreciate others input that might push me one way or another.
The engine has a 100,000 mile warranty. Have you priced a new truck? Dealer incentives have been good. Friend of mine was the same as you, found a good deal on a used truck. He is now driving a new 06 after I mentioned it to him.
OASIS...always have your friendly Ford dealer run an OASIS report on a used PSD. If he won't run it for you P.M. one of our resident Ford techs with the VIN.
Very important you have this info prior to purchase.
I agree with maxium. I just purchased a fully loaded 06 350 lariet every option except for 2 I think for $38,895.00. Check around deals are out there. The 05 would be great around $34,000.00 - $35,000.00.
About a week ago I bought a new 05 F350 XL utility 6.0 for 30K. Granted it is an XL but it was too good to pass up. By the way today was the first day I loaded it up with all my tools and used it for work. I was a little worried that it wouldn't pull my tools with ease but I was horribly wrong. It is good to be wrong sometimes.
Without 1.9%. The MSRP was $51,185.00 I did get an extra $2500 layalty rebate out of my local rep. So my total rebates were $6,250.00. And I bought at x-plan on the new truck.
