i just got a 65 ford and the motor is suposed to be a 427 but i can't find out here is the vin number f25yc761863 head #c7ae stamped on the front is 7869 if you could help this would be great.
Mike, Someones been talking a lot, I do believe you have the factory installed 352 in your truck.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
It is pretty easy to tell the difference. Look just above the oil pan at the bottom of the block. If it is a 427, you will see 3 bolt heads on each side of the block. These are the heads for the cross bolts. In addition, all late model 427 (65 and up) used screw in freeze plugs.
