Could someone please straighten me out on what exactly the front style motor mounts is and where I should be looking for one. While I haven't decide what mounting system I want to use for my 292-390 transplant, I would sure like to see one before I decide.
I heard that they used these styles on F-600's and up, but what years etc.
Thanks for any help
Rich, Most resalers have a kit to convert to side mount for your truck. Check this sites online store.

In the cool still quiet of night, you can hear chevies rusting away.
You can call Axhelm Salvage in depew Oklahoma, he has ton;s of Ford truck stuff. Not sure of the number but it is area code 918 and ask for either Axhelm Salvage, auto parts or for Lawernce Axhelm
I would love to hear from you that you do have a line on one. I don't know if they are rare, or there is not much interest in them. But I haven't seen one in mysearches on the net. I am going to start looking in the truck boneyards. Mostpeople I talk to don't seem to think I won't have a hard time locating one.

Thanks, John. I have seen these in whitneys and would be all for them, but I have to admit that I love the wide open bottom half of the engine. Can you imagine how easy headers are going to be and if I have to do some bottom end work, no messy crossmember to battle with. I do know that the torque on these engines did cause problems with the front single mount. I was think of mabey using some torque straps where the normal mounts would be. Is that crazy?
One of my primary goals when I build the engine is to make a torque monster that will tow my trailer over Parleys Summit with ease.

Thanks David! I will definitely file this name for safe keeping. I am going to start seeing what I can find locally. One thing that I have found in my on-line shopping is that p&h is a killer of decent deals. I appreciate your help.

Rich, I have seen what you are looking for on the larger trucks with FT engines. I am surprised that you let the weekend go by without yarding.

Between my wifes honey-do's and my son's '66 Mustang, I kept too busy for yarding. We are building a mild street 289 that should make it go pretty good. Now I just hope he minds his p's & q's.
