I've been reading several posts in here and find alot of information concerning various different sparkplug questions, but haven't seen a torque spec on installation of sparkplugs for the 2001 FFV 3.0 Vulcan engine. Can anyone elaborate to the proper torque spec for this application?
I read a post by silvapain:
"Unless Ford has changed part numbers, there are actually two different sets of plugs for the Vulcan engine. one bank uses a platinum center electrode, and the other bank uses a platinum side electrode. This is because with the waste-spark EDIS system that the vulcan uses, the polarity of the banks are opposite. Using DP's just makes it easier because you only have to remember one plug number."
I was told by a local Ford dealership parts department employee the same thing as silvapain was commenting on. After after telling me which was which for eack side of the engine he proceeded to retrieve the plugs from the back, only to find that their parts department didn't have the plugs.
He then told me there was a parts supersede number and sold me AGSF32FM plugs for my 2001 FFV 3.0.
Does anyone know the original correct plugs and which bank was which for the platinum center and platinum side elctrode plugs for the FFV 3.0 Vulcan engine?
I did do some more reading of posts and found Bob Ayers post on a 1999 FFV 3.0 Spark plugs should be AGSF12P and AGSF12PG for that particular year engine.
