From everyting I have read on disconntect/disable EGR, the only way it can be done on a Cal vehicle is by SCT. Disconnect throws CEL as well as possible performance issues with boost. Just blocking flow or replacing with a dummy EGR will throw CEL for lack of flow measured by expected pressure drop.
I have wanted to get rid of the soot making engine life shortening EGR, but it appears that a SCT is about the only route.
Thanks for the info and excuse the dumb question but what is a SCT? I have a scanner that reads and clears codes but I don't think it's that. If it's a tuner I didn't want to chip the 6.0 for warranty issues and especally high egt's. All ready have replaced 2 turbos and 2 VGT solenoids.
