plasti gauge
i need to know what size plasti gauge i need. do i get the red, the green or the blue. i am thinking its the blue but correct me if i am wrong. (sealed power plasti gauge is color coded by size)

I'll try to help out here since im in the middle of my 300 rebuild. From my 82 shop manual the clearances are listed as:
Rod: Desired .0008-.0015 Allowable .0007-.0024
Main: Desired .0008- .0015 Allowable .0010- .0028
Im having the machine shop do all the clearance work but im going to double check with plastigage when I get it back. The plastigage I have has green for .0010- .0030 and red is .0020- .0060. I got mine at the local parts store, not sealed power brand though. Hope this helps.
