i bought my 03 f250 back in 2007, when i bought it there was alot of deep scratches above the f250 emblem and the ford blue oval emblem on the tailgate, my truck is an oxford white color and it would cost alot of money just to repaint the whole tailgate because of the deep scratches in those 2 little areas, so i was thinking about repainting the whole tailgate with white plasti dip instead of spending alot of money to sand it down and all that mess. thinking about maybe 6 coats of plasti dip to make it look better, but dont know how the white is goin to come out
its going to look awful, get dirty very fast and you wont be able to clean it without just redoing the plasti dip. my friend used the white, looks horrible
It's only going to cost you a few hundred to get the tailgate painted. And will look much better in the end. Just know that white is one of the harder colors to match, due to yellowing.
four years ago we were hanging out at this little spot where we can swim etc.... my drunko cousin went to put the cooler into the bed of my truck slipped on a stick i guess fell and fell face first into thee cooler he was holding and then went right into my tailgate! Well after laughing and then seeing the HUGE eight inch long gouge into my tailgate a local body shop sanded, primed, painted, cleared my gate for $225 and that included new Ford and F350 badges
