Looks great. $dr cars are making a comback. Mainly due that not many 2dr hts left around to fix up or harder to find. Neighbor has a 66 that is pretty gutted. But if there is anything that car needs I can check on it. It has no motor or tranny or glass and is pretty dented.
Today worked again on my 85 truck. The master cyl leaking out the back onto the new ly painted booster. So replaced the Master cyl. Lucky I had a new one sitting here on a shelf still in the box.
Also had to fix the right rear axle backing plate. It had come loose. Probally from when I did the seals and bearings last fall. Got that tighten up again. Tightened the oil sending unit. Small leak. I also took the back bushings of my Radius arm and tried to clean and tighten it more. It thumps around. The bushings are almost 2 years old. Found the problem of thumping. The radius arm is worn down where it goes through the Bracket. Put it back together. Have to go take the ones off the parts truck and see how good they are. Will be a job and half to change and unblot these.
At least it will stopped the thumping. I hope I do not have to buy those arms. Be rather expensive.
Finally got around to finishing off changing the fuel pump in the Explorer.According to a couple of sources I checked, the 91-94 Explorer fuel pumps are supposed to be unique but when I pulled it out it was exactly the same as a fuel pump I just pulled out of a 91 Mustang with a 2.3 I was parting out, right down to the Ford part# and flow rating. That saved me the cost of a new pump.
Unfortunately that car was a dud. The frame was really rotten under the trunk and the floor had been patched with plywood. At least I have a parts car for this one.
Thats too bad about the 4dr. I hope you did not pay too high for it. The 2dr is a nice looking unit.
Ibeen trying to get ready for winter here, so the only thing I have done is got new dash panels for my 85. They sure look nice and better than the Rosewood swirl stuff I had. Got door panels also with the wood and will install later. That is about it on my stuff at the moment.
I picked up this truck the other day it might not look good but it was an old ford for free so i couldn't say no.
It had been sitting atleast 5 years already.
It runs on propane and the guy told me when he parked it it had about 1/2 a tank propane when he parked it, but he took the battery of and used it some where else so i put a battery on it cranked it over a couple of times and it ran so i drove it home about 20 miles with no problems other than the muffler falling off.
not too much work done on the old 74' since i last posted it Im still looking at another truck to put my motor in. it would be nice to have a driving truck for winter or possibly summer.
Thats a damn deadly truck for free! Why did he give it away anyways?
He his a friend of mine and he is already retired so he didn't need the truck any more and he also has an 1963 mercury M200 pickup that he is restoring and two other daily drivers so he said i could have it if i wanted too
