Nice, real nice. I was getting chills looking at the pics. You have done a fantastic job. The colour looks great. When you put on the sealer from what I could see it doesnt have to be sanded?
From the title of this thread, I was hoping to see the construction of your paint booth.
If you have any pictures of how your booth is setup and how you made, it would be greatly appreciated.
The booth doesn't belong to me. A friend of mine, I grew up with, owns a body shop. Whenever I get laid off, or currently locked out. I go work for him.
The booth came in on a truck, 15 years ago.
If you are planning on fabricating one, what type of pics you need? It would be easy to fabricate. c-channel and sheet metal.
The car took two 12 hour days to paint. Silver bc for reflective purposes, then laser red bc, then two coats of candy tinted clear, then a third coat.
Sanded the third coat, layed down two more coats of clear.
Zanny, how much reducer are you adding to the primer to create your sealer ?
Tough question. It depends on the manufacturer. A lot of manufactures have a three in one primer sealer. 1. high build primer. 2. primer. 3. sealer.
It's all in the way you mix it.
Zanny ,nice pics aand nice job.
Does that silver have alot of metal flake in it?
I'm only saying this from expierence. When painting metalic paints when the vehicle is apart ,in pieces like you show in your pics doors and stuff laying down flat.
and you will now paint the rest of the truck vertical.
The metalic will lay different than that of the other parts ,depending on conditions you can get different shades of color all due to how the metalic lays down in the paint.
I hope it turns out great for you ,I found out the hardway in the past.
or could it be that you painted them vertical then turned them in the booth

You are correct. I understand where you are coming from.
The doors were based in the vertical position. Then turned them to horizontal position, for the clear. The hood, cowl panel and tailgate were based in the horizontal position, and then cleared in the horizontal position.
These panels don't butt up to anything significant, you wouldn't see a difference. The silver I used has a lot of fine metallic in it. The paint code is honda nh630m.
I agree. Would you like to see a pic of the exhaust filter's? Bossman changes them every 6 months. You wouldn't believe, what they catch. Were 5 months into our present filters. Imagine, all that in your body.
Not really ,But would like to see your truck pics when your finished.
I always make the safe statement at the end of any post in this forum.
Why?
Because I lost 2 close friends that worked with me as painters who refused yrs ago to wear proper safety equipment ,
Both died a very slow painful death with emphysema (sp)

I understand. Yeah, I'll post some pics. Bought everything new. Front and rear bumpers, grille, I mean everything.
