Flat Bed or Factory Bed?

I am in a tough situation... I haul wood regularly with my 77 f150 it is a fairly clean truck and the inside of the bed is getting tore up. I am thinking of putting a nice flatbed on it or put new floor and inner bedpanels on factory bed and have a spray in line put in it. What would you guys do go with the flat bed and not have to worry about a rusted out bed anymore or keep the good lookin factory bed.

I really like my factory bed but it is possible to build a really nice looking flat bed. Since you are working your truck enough to be beating up your bed I'd switch to a flat bed. Just put the effort into making it nice.

That is a nice looking truck! I'd want to keep it that way also.
Having a shortbed, and making it shorter with a stepside convinced me to make a trailer. Now I have two trailers that can go off-road.

Although the factory tub looks good, I'm sick and tired of having no where to keep ropes chains and tools except the passenger side floor of the cab. So in the rebuild of my truck I'm fitting an Alloy (Aluminium) flatbed tray with lockers underneath to carry stuff.

It all depends if you Use your truck for work or play. I do both

I like the looks of a flat bed on a dually truck only. I voted to keep the factory bed and have it lined.

I vote to keep it the way it is... looks great! Just repair it and maybe line it, or redo it and then get one of those crappy plastic liners to throw in the back when you haul wood and leave it out the rest of the time. That is what I might do. I also think that flat beds only look good on duallys.

Yes, agree with TexasGuy...I was at one of the big wreckers on Scott Road up here in the Vancouver area - saw a decent plastic bedliner for $20. With many people moving toward the spray-on liners now, I'll bet you can pick up a couple of cheap plastics to use for wood hauling. Also put an old sheet of plywood under the plastic liner, it helps absorb impacts and will save those dents in your bed floor.

Hey guys thanks for all the replies I was pullin in the drive way today from work in the work van and looked at the truck and said I gotta keep the factory bed it just looks too good. I'll have to get a small trailer to haul wood or have the spray in liner put in then put a sheet of wood in the bed to protect from dents.
