I have an 05 5.4L in my F150. I can get gas with 10 or 20% ethanol for cheaper than the normal pump gas around town (which sometimes contains some ethenol).
First off, can I run E20 in my engine without having any problems? Second, what milage difference is there compared to normal 87 octane, the E10 is supposed to be closer to 90 octane and is usually 4-5 cents per gallon cheaper.
I think you can run up to 10% ethanol in a non-E85 vehicle, but I wouldn't try it more than half a tank at a time- IE, half tank E10, half regular petro gas. Your mileage will suffer, in the 3-5% range at that concentration, but it -shouldn't- do any damage.
You may want to consult your owner's manual for the exact ethanol spec for that truck.
