You'll need to remove the front oil pan bolts, damper, front engine mount and water pump to remove the timing cover. I suggest that since your there, check your timing chain. If deflection is more than 3/8", replace both gears and chain. Also be sure to replace your damper oil seal too.
On my timing cover (352) the pointer doesnt stick out far enough to align with the pully wheel so how do you set the timing? (What is the correct timing?)
