Timing Cover Question

Hi all

61 292v8

I pulled my radiator to be rebuilt and decided to paint my waterpump and timing cover....I can't get the timing cover off....

Whats the trick , I pulled all bolts, do i need to drop oil pan?

or do i need to take out the front motor mount?

What gives

Timing Cover Question

You'll need to remove the front oil pan bolts, damper, front engine mount and water pump to remove the timing cover. I suggest that since your there, check your timing chain. If deflection is more than 3/8", replace both gears and chain. Also be sure to replace your damper oil seal too.

Timing Cover Question

On my timing cover (352) the pointer doesnt stick out far enough to align with the pully wheel so how do you set the timing? (What is the correct timing?)

I Also would like to know what the correct timing is, and how you set it.
