I've had a few EFI fords before and today I just bought a 1981 F150 with a 302.
The carb is new, according to the seller, but it was running very rich. Performance is very sluggish but there is no knock/ping/tap and engine runs smoothly otherwise so I'm thinking it's probably a matter of me learning how to adjust the timing on the truck and how to tune the carb.
Is there a good web site to introduce newbs to how to tune a carb, what tools are needed, best practices for troubleshooting carb issues, etc?
You can see some lo-res pics of the new truck in my gallery but it's not much to look at yet.
Good question. I won't have the truck in my posession until monday (you can never find a notary public on the weekend when you need one most) so I can post all kinds of specs & pics then.
