Identifying Transmissions

It appears the even though my VIN code says I have a T98 in my 62 F-250, I may have something different. What are the key features that I should look for to help me determine what I really have? It is riding behind a 292.

Try reading [link:www.ford-trucks.com/dcforum/DCForumID27/61.html|this thread] as it helped me identify my trans. Reply #1 has a link to top cover pictures.

Identifying Transmissions

Thank you very much! With a tiy bit of daylight left and new batteries in the flashlight I retrieved a bit more information. The casting on the drivers side of the tranny had this....
T98-1R
G.W.DIV
K-2
So it is a T98 but the mounting pattern seems to be in question. Did they make deffernt bolt patterns for mounting?
