borrowed fathers pickup and it wasn't running that great to begin with. Going down the highway around 60 mph and all of a sudden the truck just seemed to lose acceleration. It dropped down to about 45 mph and it wouldn't go any faster despite my pressing down on accelerator. I stopped truck and then started again. It got back up to about 60 mph but that was about as fast as it would go. When I got home the truck would idle very rough and whenever I would put it in gear and try to take off it would die each time. The carburetor has never been replaced or rebuilt. It has new plugs and I put in a new rotor and distributor cap. Still ran terrible. Also can you tell me where to find the fuel filter on the 82?
I suspect you may have a catalytic convertor plugging up.
Maybe check for that as well. The symtoms are the same.
Does the exhaust manifold and pipe get really hot ?
also, May I suggest to put the "Topic" in the title.
(ie: Engine no power,or dies...fuel filter location)
We are already here to help.
