Took it to autozone to get light checked and the guy said it was my air flow sensor so I purchased one and installed it myself and started the truck and the light was off and after a couple of miles the light came back on. Anyone ever had this issue before? Im going back to Autozone today to talk to the Manager.

Rule # 1: NEVER ALLOW AN AUTOZONER TO DIAGNOSE YOUR VEHICLE!!!!. Ask them politely to READ the code(s), WRITE DOWN THE CODES (not the descriptions), then tell them you need to do some research.
Rule #2: Come back here and SEARCH for previous discussions using your code(s) as your SEARCH keywords. There are common codes and combinations that come up every week. A few minutes of your time will usually find the information you need.
If you can't find anything or need some additional explanation, just ask.
well put steve.the code reading at autozone or orielys is just a way to sell parts, more than likely your not going to need.it takes someone with knowledge to understand what is going on with the vehicle .many different things have an effect on one thing on todays vehicle.
Advance Auto now pulls codes, and their corporate tells them to give it to the customer and that is all. Give them guidance, but nothing else. Of course every once in a while you'll get the "know it all" who tells you what exactly needs replaced, and no matter how much you think he knows, take the advice and research it yourself.
If you came back to me bitching about a free service I gave you, I'd probably tell you to buy your own scanner next time. Auto Zone offers to pull the codes for you & tells you what it usually is or what the book says it is. If it isn't, take it to FORD next time.
With that attitude, I know I sure won't try to help you if you ask for it. You may sue me if I'm wrong.

Yet another dumb comment by Leader. It isn't a free service if the item you tell him to replace costs $158.00 and it doesn't fix anything. And it "usually" is a parts thrower instead of an actual troubleshooter behind the counter to get to that point.
Autozone employee: It says P0300, random misfire, you need a new computer... lol
I don't think leaders comment is too dumb. They offer a free service and might rec. a part that might fix your problem. It probably won't but it might. I bet if you had a P0171 OR A P0174 they'd tell you that you need an oxygen sensor. Those codes mean the oxygen sensor is working and there's a problem with the engine running lean. Any way you've gotta give them credit for whoever thought of the idea to read codes and sell parts that the code mentions. That's what they're in business for and most businesses will do what it takes to make a few more bucks. If they would charge you 10 bucks for the service, then you would have a reason to be mad.

I guess you're right... I didn't (and still don't) see where he PAID for AutoZone to diagnose his CEL. If he did in fact PAY for this service, it wasn't FREE.
I was under the impression he got a FREE service AND some FREE advice.
Ok now im getting the codes p0171 and p0172 he told me to run some high test gas and some injection cleaner thru the system for a couple of days to see if that fixes it. it read Bank 1 error..

It appears you didn't follow my rule #1 above.
If you won't follow instructions, you can't be helped.
Wow. Boys, Boys. Take it outside why don't ya. Still new to the sight, but man, take it easy on fellow "Ford Men (or women)" and try to help this poor owner.
Question? Have you recently had reason to be under the hood, or has anyone else for you, specifically fiddling with the air filter?

Yeah i had to pull that apart to install the Air flow sensor, so today when i get home ill inspect for any openings. I was just discussing that with my co-workers they said i could have a opening somewhere.
Before you did the MAF, where you in there? How many miles on the EXPY? Look back about 5 or 6 pages, and if you get 071,074 codes, there's pretty good lists of items to run down. Did you keep your old MAF> Take the other one back and talk to the mngr to see what he'll do, oh, and be nice.
