Unhappy My truck's getting old...

I spent sunday cleaning up my truck. I keep it inside and always take care of it, but it's my daily driver. Gave it the mother's 3 stage, cleaner, scratch remover, and some nice paste carneauba wax. Man it came out nice I wax this thing about once a month, but it really came out great this time. Problem is, every time I wax it, I notice things. A little blister in the paint that wasn't there. Then another. My poor trucks getting old. The original black paint still shines up nice, but it's like it's rusting from the inside out. My poor truck.

My truck needs a complete paint job.

It's faded, got sun blisters and rock chips. I touch them up, but even that shows. It looks good from a distance though.

You know your truck is old when you replace the same part 5 times, then Ford tells you it's obsolete when you go back for the sixth.

I know how you feel... my '83 F100 is my daily driver and it has been 8 years since I painted it. Get surface rust and I have a few holes in the box that need attention. But I have owned it for almost 10 years and it has been the best and most reliable vehicle I have owned.

Thumbs up Refinish the Finish

When I bought my 84 F250 from a farmer, I thought that it was brown. As it turns out, under a lot of dirt and oxidation, it is red. First, of course, I washed it but the finish was terribly dull and cloudy. However after a treatment with Nu Finish wax, the oxidation came off and it is shiny and red, again.

You can only do that so many times before you start seeing the primer throught the paint however.

Cough, cough.
