I have a 1980 F350 4x4 w/ man. trans., linkage style clutch and have never found anything off the shelf... sort of a bummer when I was rebuilding as I was looking forward to the little extra power boost from them.. someone suggested to me maybe going to a hydraulic clutch setup to provide more clearance... As I understand it, the clutch rod is in the way for most setups... I was in a hurry and just went with the stock manifolds...
Real curious to see if anyone chimes in with other options...
doug thorley lists one (pn225) as a limited production run. Maybe call them. I've been looking, too, for 400 headers with a T19 w/manual clutch linkage, 1982 F250 4x4.
or try hooker super competition headers pn: HOO-6827 according to my P.A.W. catalog. I couldn't remember for sure from a couple years back, but I'm back on this project now, again, and am hoping to find headers, so I dug out my old catalogs.
i called thorley a couple years ago asking about those exact headers (thy-225 for my '82 e350 w/ 400 auto.) Was told they hadn't made any in years and probably never would. :-(
then again, maybe if enuf people call asking for them, they'll do a run? :-)
Take a look in my gallery of my 80 (the bits n' Pieces gallery), as its a 400/nv 435 4sp (similar to the other manuals), and i have no clearence issues
Lol, brand X I built those headers, it actually wasn't to bad to do either. Took some time to do though (built over the span of a week in the evenings, but 3 full days and they could be done).
What i did was got 2 10ft lengths of 1 7/8" exhaust tubing, then got some exhaust header gaskits and using a plasma cutter and then using some 3/8" plate i cut out the flange then i just used a chop saw to cut the pieces at the correct angles and tack welded everything, test fitted everything then welded it together, i still need to extend the collectors out past the fenders (the exhaust shop gave me 5" instead of 4", but i used the 5" for the first bit for the collector to make my life easier .)
