Question What do I need to do to get more power out of my 351w?

Okay I'm 16, and I have a 1982 Ford F-150, with a 1978 351w motor in it, the truck orginally had a 302 in it. Right now the motor has flat top heads, and a rv cam in it. It is also bored .30 over. At the moment it has manifolds on it i'm wondering what it will be like if it put headers on it? Power wise? Also i have a 2 bbl motorcraft carb. on it, but I do have a 4 bbl intake for it that i havent put on, what will be the difference if i do put that on? and what carb should i get for it. Also my kickdown rod on it is not hook up at all ? How much will that help...? Also is their anything else to do to get more power out of it?

The headers and 4 bbl will wake it up starting at about 2500 rpm and up, but the penalty will be more gas if you use it that way, or all that work and no improvement if you feather the throttle and short shift it....

Installing headers, a weind 4brrl intake and a good 600cfm carb will really wake up your motor. is the rest of the exhaust stock as well? if so you might think about having that redone as well for instance buying a bassani Y pipe and then having a shop fab up a 3" exhaust from there out stock location would be the way to go.
you will have a noticable increase off idle for sure

85 i dont agree with that 2500rpm comment. at least not with this setup or what he mentioned.

I'd start with the intake since you already have it and make your way from there. Measure the subtle differences to your mods and you'll see what really helps for your style of driving, where you live, where you ride and whatnot. It differs for each of us.
