I got a trim kit for my 2003 f250 to install a clarion head unit and it looks horrible. The deck sits in further than the stock one and the dash doesn't sit how it's supposed to when i snapped it back on. Thanks
This is the third question that i posted in this forum and recieved 0 replys. Guess i just won't bother with this forum anymore since no one seems to care to help or no one knows anything. Thanks for the help
Sorry...been busy. But you're right...it's...rather empty in here lately.
Anyways, did you use the correct brackets? I know some of the mounting bracket things come with multiple types of brackets, are you positive you used the correct one and it's installed correctly according to the directions? If so, it may just be a normal thing they expect you to live with.
If there's space perhaps you could fab a spacer of some sort, though without pictures I couldn't remotely guide you on that.
Ponch...
Is it possible for you to snap some pics of the area and post'em (your gallery would be a good spot)? Also do you recall the model/ part no. of the dash kit you used and what manuf..
Oh what headunit?
The reason I ask.....
...some of the mid/late model F- series (mostly SDs) had some "extra-cobbling" on the dash-kit you had to do to make the radio sit flush with the dash.
A lot of it is due to the Radio manufac. either making a "skinnier" than normal trim ring or the face thickness a bit wider than avg....
You don't know how many times I've cursed H/U manufact. for making a goofy sized trim ring or face panel...making me have to cut/drill up a perfectly good dash kit.
