7 Lugs

I have a 97 F-250 3/4 ton. I just got 4 new buckshots on it and while getting them put on, the tire guy said he had never seen a 7 lug nut set up. Is this uncommon to have 7? Does anyone else have a 7 lug setup on their rig's?

7 lugs was started on the light duty FORD 3/4 ton pickup several years ago. normally a 1/2 ton has 5 or 6 and a 3/4 ton has 8. the 7 is an odd ball for FORD only.

It is designed so that too light of a wheel is put on the F250LD or the later F150 7700.
These have higher GVW's than a standard F150 but less than a F250SD.
Here are some more owners https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...highlight=7700

Yeah I have a 97 7 lug, welcome to the club. Great to have extra capacity, only problems are lack of aftermarket wheels, and explaining to the parts guy what it is.

Those that have them easily spot others that drive them. The rest just think you are driving a 1/2 ton.
