hello,
i am converting my truck from a manual seat to a power seat. it is a 99 f150xlt. there is a wire under the seat (looks like a seat belt sensor) but it is not a big enough connector for this application. i went to a local junk yard and found the connector to hard wire the seat, but there are alot of wires (8) and they are not as simple as red/black. is there anyone out there who has expirene in electrical that could give me instruction as to how to wire this seat??
You might need to do a little digging. The stock harness on your truck probably has the plug-in already installled on it. Finding it will be the next challenge. Your best bet may be to go back to the salvage yard and see how the wires run or to find a friend that has it and see how the wires run.
get an adaptor for the cigarette lighter and a couple of alligator clips. that is what i did for the short term and that was 3 months ago. let me know what you find, i need to finish the job someday
i got it!! i jumped the wires behind the kick plate near the e-brake pedal. used a test light to find a hot wire when the key was turned on. thanks for the input folks.
