After all the negative threads...

After all the negative threads I've read in the 6.0 section, let me tell you I love this truck! Yesterday I put the Mustang on the trailer, hooked it to the truck, my Wife and teenage Daughter climbed in, and we were off to the dragstrip in Gainesville. It is just freaking nice! Ride in comfort, lots of room, pulls the car trailer like it isn't even there. Getting 15-17mpg while towing with my SCT tune in the truck. I talk to more and more long term owners that have zero problems with these trucks. Granted, mine has only has 5K on it so far, so it could fall apart. I honestly was never a truck person. My wife was just amazed when I bought it. I needed something to tow the car, but now even my (VERY not a truck person) wife is in love with it. Even my 18 year old, private school daughter tries to borrow it all the time. She has her own '96 Impala SS with a competition stereo system in it!!!
I just thought I'd say something nice about the 6.0...

Glad to hear that you're enjoying your 6.0.
People will come to these sites when they are having problems, that's what brings them here. So it's good to see a positive report.
I had a lot of problems with my truck on and off between 5k and 36k, it now has 50k and haven't had any issues since the head gaskets were replaced at 36k.

I know the "daughter borrowing the truck" thing sounds a bit far-fetched, but let's not get personal...

Notice I said she TRIES to borrow the truck! You don't think I'm gonna let her actually drive it, do you? Get "real" man.

I love the "I love my truck thread".

After seeing the wreckage of this accident (http://www.kfoxtv.com/news/9515895/detail.html, watch the video) in person, I would rather have my kid in the SD. If an F-150 can keep it's passengers alive after sustaining this type of impact, I'm sure the SD, with a much stronger frame would fair even better. The pictures just don't illustrate completely how disintegrated the Z28 was.

glad you guys love your trucks. they are finnally becomeing more reliable powerhouses. i dont have one but would if i could afford one. by the way, to everyone who runs chips in these trucks that is not a monitoring system like edge or banks, prepare yourself for head gaskets. 90% of these trucks pop head gaskets and strecth head bolts due to the high boost of some of these tuners.

Didn't take long for someone to chime in with a negative comment, did it?

If the person writing the tune knows what they are doing and the capability of the car/truck they are tuning, 90% of them will NOT freaking break.

Did you know that 77% of statistics are made up on the spot? I will add to the I love my truck. I have an 04 with the banks 6 gun and PDA and absolutely love the truck and the tuner. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

The Ford SD with the 6.0 is one darn comfortable and responsive roadtrip machine: Rides, drives and pulls great I brought my 14k boat up to Bear Lake aka "the Caribbean of the rockies" this weekend and then got 20 mpg (according to the LOM) on the drive home... Not bad for a 6 wheel drive 9,000 lb rig

I Love my truck too! The only thing that I would trade it for is 2 more Powerstroke powered Super Duties but NOT the new ones, I love all the curves and the look of my 04. Guess I'm just weired that way. "The Kid" here aint had so much fun since his 1963 "406".

BowTieHatr....90% of the 90% that blew head gaskets did not have a programmer. But that's only 90% of my opinion....
