Joe,
Thanks for the update. I'm very glad to hear that your dad is doing better. I think its a good idea that he relocates to your area. You two will need each other, it will be good for both of you.

Keep you spirits up
Bobby

Thanks guys. I enjoy having a big group of friends like you out there. We may or may not ever meet in person, but I suppose that's what this is here for. As to the truck, it arrived the Monday after it left Monsterbaby's. It is here. The rear brakes are toast. The brake booster is toast, and the master cylinder is toast. The tank, and added apparatus are no longer on the truck. We have a forklift, and I gotta tell you all that, it is a darned good thing no one tried driving it anywhere. The apparatus assembly almost maxed the 4000# capacity of the forkift. Steering was a little light on the fork lift, and I never thought I'd ever see a heavy truck suspension raise the way this one did after lifting the equipment and tank off of it. I'll get some pics of it, and post them. I did do a quick tune up, and she runs pretty good now. The charging system is working, but I think the gauge may be faulty. She's charging at 7.6 volts. I threw new seals and gaskets in the carb, and ran 5 gallons of gas through the system until it was gone, along with some sea foam. The rotten gas smell is finally gone. I did manage to figure a bunch of stuff out on it. We are going to build a new 500 gallon tank to fit in the back approx. the same shape and size of the original. Oh, by the way, I filled the pump with water, engaged it, and enjoyed the sight of watching the original pump work. The lanterns on the rear still work, and I managed to get all of the spotlights and flood lights to work too. I mounted the siren, and it sounds cool. The pulse generator under the hood started working after a little electrical cleaner, and it made all the red lights flash like it were 1953 again. My local Napa is getting all the brake stuff lined up for me, and I gave them a list of things I'd like to have extras of before they get too scarce. So far so good. Honestly, she may be road worthy very soon, and I don't think she'll have much trouble going down the road for parades, or events. I'm going to put the 2 speed rear end I've got under it, and swap the cast spoke wheels that are on it for the stamped steel disc type wheels I have. After that, I want to get back to the original plan of organizing an interstate drive, but this time she'll actually be safe to make the trip. Anyhow, the fire truck is being forced to return to service. Our property is outside of the county's fire district, and in order to get the permit for the new house, we have to have a fire department, or fire truck on contract. HHMMMM, I just happen to have a working fire truck, and the fire department is helping me get the hose for it. It's going to be fun, and the kids are really digging it too. Hey, if any one is ever in the area, and wants to stop and pitch in, or just shoot the breeze, the coffee's always on.
