..any signs of condensation. As my A/C runs, there is no tell-tale puddle of water from the condenser. Any clues as to where the primary drain is on the bottom side of an '01 F250SD? (2WD/5Sp) I'm thinking it might have something to do with my AC not working properly. I have no way to test hi/lo pressures, but am starting to look for the good old common sense things before I take it in to a dealer/service shop and drop the cash on it.
Condensation comes from the evaporator core. Having said that, there are a couple of reasons why you might not see any condensate after A/C use; very low humidity, a plugged drain hose, or a dirty evaporator. Have you noticed a musty smell from the vents lately?

Steve
No... No musty smell, and the humidity is NOT a problem here in the St. Louis area. We normally have 80-100% humidity conditions in the summer without a cloud in sight!
Where is the drain hose located?
I have a buddy that said that it sounds like the A/C is "freezing" up, but I'm not too sure what that means.
Yeah, I was pretty sure low humidity wasn't the problem where you live. The drain hose should be on the bottom right in front of the passenger footwell. Whether the evaporator is freezing up because of dirt or an improper charge, the condensate still has to come out eventually. If you can't find the drain hose, hopefully someone with an '01 F250 will jump in here.
