hey is there a way that i can get a newer ford f250 8 lug rim set that i just bought, fit on my 77 f250? like change out the rotors? and the rear drums? please i want these rims and tires on my truck so bad
Now this may confuse things but I recall reading something were a company could modify the rims to fit but I would suspect the cost to be to much. Maybe some heavy searching would find something. If I can recall where I read this I will reply back.
The lug bolts are actually pressed into the end of the axle shaft. It looks like the only thing that might work is an adapter as the only way to change the lug pattern would be to change axle shafts. I don't know if newer axles shafts could be found in the same length, diameter and spline count.
I could be wrong and I'm sure someone with more information on axles may be able to come up with a different idea.
so heres a odd ball idea dont spitt on me please.....lets say i take the rims....aluminum rims and between each of the holes drill new holes with the 170mm lug pattern...and the other holes just remain the same...so i have 170mm lug pattern as well as a 6 1/2 inch lug pattern.....crazy?
What kind of wheells are these? Are they factory for a 99 up? I think you would be better off to take those wheels and trade them for wheels that will fit your truck. Besides drilling them for the right bolt pattern, you also need to cut the bevel for the lug nuts to center the wheel If this is not done exactly, you risk the wheel being off center causing a vibration and/ or coming off.

I would suspect that the wheel would become very weak. I wouldn't try it. As mentioned the cost of this is going to cost more than a new set of wheels.
