Yes K&N does make a FIPK for the 4.6L LINK I dont know why I dont have it on the site yet? One of those items that slips thru the cracks. I will get that up now so you can consider us. Dont forget there are lots of great supporters at FTE, and like us they will do everything they can to help you out.
Keep in mind that the K&N system for the 4.6 will only work with 2004 and some early 2005 builds, because somewhere in the 2005 model year ford changed to a slot in MAF, and as far as i know, there are no suppliers who support it just yet.
We sell AiRaid all the time, and have never had this problem before. LINK I just put the K&N 4.6L system on the site today, so I cant say I have any experience with it. I havent had a problem with the Volant either LINK Maybe Im just lucky. Thanks for the heads up though!
If you look closely at all these kits, youll notice that they use the stock MAF in its own round housing. The later 4.6s do not have a MAF like this and use a slot in like the 5.4 We have sold a few intakes that had problems, and we did some research on our own to find out. You may want to contact your customers before you ship one out, so dont end up having to take back a return.
Here is a picture of the OEM MAF that WILL work with these kits

You wouldn't happen to have a build date that I can put in the description? I guess I could call Volant or AiRaid, I would imagine that they would know. We have sold many of them and havent had a return yet. Could we be that lucky? The Volant part number tells you it wont work on 06, but AiRaid says that it does....I wonder if they know lol.
Most of the vendors i talked had no idea!! Im not sure why it hasnt been an issue yet. I wish i actually knew a build date change, i may have to do some more research. For the time being, ive just been contacting customers with that image to make sure it will work for them. I dont assume it will take K&N very long to make an intake for it, they are usually the first to market, but i have been pressuring Volant and a few other companies to GET TO IT!!! These intakes make a huge difference on these trucks!
maybe we should make a new thread for this?

It might be that they're like me and haven't had a chance to install it yet. I got the AEM brute force from you while I was home on leave and haven't had a chance to look at it much less hook it up since I've been back. I'm intrigued now so I guess I better go investigate.
