I was just got my Edge Evo installed in my truck and was wondering what you alls usual tranny temps are while towing. I'll be towing my Jeep in a couple of weeks and was just curious. My truck is an '06 Screw 4x4 with 5.4L, Auto, 3.73 Gears, and 17" rims
Thanks,
Robbie

The "cooler" mounted in front of the radiator is for the AC. If you have the tow package, the aux tranny cooler will be mounted lower (look in bumper opening). While towing my travel trailer across the country and back this summer, I would say I averaged a TFT of 210 F. I maxed out at 230 F.

That's just the numbers that I was looking for. So it seems like if it get to around 220-230 I should start doing something different so it can cool down.
I tow a 8000 pound fifth wheel with an 04 STX 4.6 and the Edge Evo. I've never seen over 200 towing including the mountains in NC. Usually around 165-175 towing and 150 or so empty.
Anything over 240 get the fluuid changed, you've scorched it.
One thing I figured for sure during this trip towing.... on hills or on the flat.... it did not matter..... RPM's = temp. The more RPM's you turn, the higher temps will be generated in the oil and trans fluid. I could climb a hill slowly with low rpms and fluid temps would not climb. But I wanted to get where I was going so rpm's climbed a little. So if you see the temps climb, lower the rpm's.
