X-Hibition....I'd agree that they shouldn't sit on the grill...but just about every one I see installed is sitting on the grill

I really love the Ford superduty chrome deflector I just got installed.It doesn't touch the grill at all.Man,it;s sharp looking.reasonable price also.

They must not be installed correctly then. I've yet to see one sitting on the grill. They're close, but not resting on it. I have an EGR Patriot on mine. Looks great and I do think it helps with rock chips though not bugs. I still see many splatters on the windshield. Maybe if I slowed down they would go over, but that's not going to happen! lol

I take them off any vehicle I buy. I have found that they may cost as much as 1 MPG to have them on & it seems that all they do is move the bug line up the windshield. Usually right to where I look out. As far as protecting the hood, I actually keep my trucks till I have over 300,000 miles on them so I don't worry about a chip or two. My trucks are work trucks.... My new one only has 104,000 miles on it, wifes Expedition has 184,000 and my pick up has 386,000. 1 MPG adds up with todays prices.
