Hello,
Just asking for a bit of quick advice. Looking to get a reman manual steering gear box for my truck. Lares corporation has one for $155 with exchange. Has anyone purchased one from them, and if so, how did it perform and were you happy with it, etc. Thanks now for any replies.
Joseph
I had the steering box for a 68 mustang rebuilt professionally. They told me when I got it back that there was major internal damage and that they had to put all new parts in it. Only cost me about 200 bucks, but two years and 20,000 miles later the steering feels just like it did before the rebuild. I was happy with it for about 6 months or so and then started getting mad at the situation.
I've actually heard that rebuilt steering boxes just always suck and its best to go with a completely new one. Anyone out there agree/disagree on that?
The steering box in my 78 F-150 is shot too, so I need the same advice on a good company to go with and whether a rebuild will work or shell out for a new one.
