Well, now that Im in the market for a new truck, I've found one that I like. After hours and hours of searching thru all of the Big 3's half tons within a 25 mile radius Ive found a 2004 F150 4x4 with a 4.6. Here's the link:
Since this website can be weird about links, I'll put up some info.
22,246 miles, A/C, Alloy wheels, AM/FM/CD, tilt wheel, tinted windows,
tow pkg., Black with grey interior. Their asking $20,995, But I think I can get
it for cheaper. What do you guys think a fair price is?
They rate the gas mileage at 14C/18HWY, sounds rediculous with gas hovering below $3 a gallon, but the only cars I like are Mustangs and Camaros, which means making some insurence guy rich, even with a V6 model, which I wouldn't want in the first place. And all the foreign cars look ugly as hell. I dont have any far distences to drive anyways.
Time for more cough medicine... Let me know what you guys think.
I have an 04 F150 4x4 with a 4.6 myself. I have no complaints. It has 30,000 miles on it. I didn't buy it for it's fuel economy. I bought it cause it was a big red truck with 4x4, and it should take me any where I need to go. My truck does go off of the pavement quite often, unlike other 4x4's you see and hear about on this forum. AndI very rairly have to put it in 4x4, with 285 70 17 BFG AT's on it. I average 15 mpg with it.
The one I have has no carpet, no electric windows, door locks and etc. It is an STX, that's what I wanted. If I want to get the water hose after the floorboard, that's no problem. The grey seat covers suck, water stains them, and so does everything else, get used to it if you get that truck.
If you want a great truck that you don't mind getting scratches on, and mud inside, and using it for what you buy it for, GO FOR IT.
