Keyless Remote Access Code lost

I recenetly purchased a used 2004 Ford f150 from a dealership. I inquired about the code for the keyless door entry located on the driver door. To which they responded that it was installed by the previous owner after purchasing the vehicle. They claim that they could not get the code. However it looks to be a ford product that was purchased and installed by ford. I have found several articles in my search today and one brought me to this site with a good explanation on how to retrieve the factory code to reset and reprogram a new code. Prior to tearing my dash apart I was wondering if that factory code would be in the same spot as this is a installed item after the fact.

Here is a link to the article I found on this site: https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...xcursions.html

All help is greatly appreciated in this matter. Thanks in advance.

Ok I went to their web site as I am at work at the moment. Looking at their web site I did not see any listings for the keyless entry that I am looking for. The one I am inquiring about is the one that is mounted on the door with 5 buttons with 2 numbers on each button 1-2 3-4 5-6 7-8 9-0. Do they also manufacture this sytle for Ford as well?

Ok I recieved the fax instructions. However the one thing I am really in need of is how to find the factory 5 digit code in order to reprogram the keyless entry. I need to know where the 5 digit code is located. Keeping in mind that this was installed after the orginal owner purchased the vehicle from the dealer. Being an after market part. Would the 5 digit factory code be present on the RAP computer under the dash near the radio as most instructions have shown. Or would it be located somewhere else as this was installed after the fact?

I contacted the dealer again on this issue and they said prior to bringing the truck out they tried to hook it up to their computer and they were unable to retrieve any code for the keyless entry. Which is really pissing me off. They should have a way to get that number and they appear to be dicking me around.

I don't blame you for being angry with the dealership, didn't they sell you a truck with a keyless entry system? I'm sure you paid for the "bells and whistles".
the dealership needs to give you a code or provide you with an entry system that they have the code for...... or reimburse you the cost of the system.
They should at the very least try to help you find the code.

Ok I have done everything short of tearing the truck apart looking for this RAP module. Does anyone have a picture of what it looks like? Any suggestions on where exactly it would be found? I am desperate now as this problem is driving me nuts. lol

I recieved instructions from discountfordpart on how to reprogram it which is very usefull however until I can find the factory code located on the module I am stuck. Now I have my friend also goin crazy looking for this module. He is much skinnier than I am so he can practicly climb around under the dash. However we both have been unable to locate this elusive rare creature known as RAP. I am begining to think it might be extinct.
