hey guys, im not new to the forum but im new to rangers....last week i picked up a 2003 ranger extended cab 4 door with the 4.0 and 5 speed auto. its got the 4.10's in the rear and the guy before me put larger tires on it (he went up to 265's....245's are stock) now i want some more power, so im going to pick up an air intake and exhaust...but i dont know which exhaust to get. does anyone have an exhaust on theirs and do they like it?
thanks a lot
I run a gibson dual sport, nice rumble, not loud inside the cab. The most noticable increase in power will come from a bama chips programer, you wont pickup much with just a catback, without doing headers and a highflow cat, maybe acouple, but it sure sounds faster.
now since its only a 6, does it still have a nice rumble like you say? my dads got an f-150 with the 5.4 and he has the borla duals and i like the rumble of that since its an 8....now i know it wont sound like an 8 but does it sound decent?
and whats this bama chips programmer that your talking about?
I'm also interested in this 'Bama Chips Programmer.' As far as exhaust, though, I've always run Flowmaster on my vehicle and been happy with them, but I like loud. I agree with Borror, though, that without a header-back system, you're not going to gain a whole lot of power.
Just out of curiosity, what intake are you going with?
I got a Flowmaster 40 series SI/DO, dumps straight to turndowns after the muffler. Sounds great...rumbling idle, loud on startup, very noticeable on acceleration, and then you let off the gas and it cuts out to just a nice rumble. I also like loud though...
i was looking at the aem brute force intake since its a non-oiled filter....if not that then the K&N FIPK.....we have them on my parents truck and like them
hey wendell borror, how much did the headers and exhaust run you?
and can anyone tell me about this programmer?
