Resto question????
Got a quick question. Is there a way to bring that original shine back to the aluminum grill on a 70 F-100?? It's straight with no scratches or any other deformities, just real tarnished. Old water spots, aging, etc. The truck is about finished. All she needs is her paint job(original Royal Maroon w/ Wimbledon White top) Just need to bring the grill up to par. Any help would be appreciated on how to bring that shine back. Thanks. Joseph

In the still cool hours of the night, you can hear chevys rusting away.
1. Have the anodization stripped off the grill. This is done with a caustic acid at any anodization shop.
2. Polish out any scratches or pits. This is hard work as the stripping proccess will enhance any defects on the grill.
3. Have the grill Bright Dipped also known as Chem Polish. This is a chemical bath that will bring back the shine on the grill. This can also be done at most anodizing shops.
4. Immediately after bright dip the grill needs to be anodized with a Type II Class I anodization. If the grill sits around to long after bright dip it will oxidize and become dull. The anodization thickness should be around .0002 to .0003 of a mil.
