We should all hold a mud bog and off-road rally when warm weather returns. Something sorta like the Top Trucks and Rubicon competitions, only without all that D**ge and Ch**y junk cluttering the area Dave, do you live here in Plover, too, or do you just know about that well problem we had?

>Might be something to that. Yesterday (Tuesday 10th) there was a story how the ground water is getting very low. Seems certain counties are drilling deeper to get at water. Also there is a nature flow of water to the south, meaning Illinois. In reading the story there seems to be a major concern about this corner of the state and what might happen. I didn't here about the charging for water but politicans are always looking for money.
Hey Cowgirl.
I'm from the Green Bay area myself.GO PACK!!!!!!!!
Does Cowgirl imply horses? We have 2 hayburners.
Ford + horses = my kind of girl.
So why did I marry a city girl with a chevy car??? Oh well.

I guess if the water table is lowering it would make sense and it might also apply to someone who is running a bottled spring water company, but I suspect in Superior WI the only ground water problems they have (besides pollution) would be too high of a water table.

Good point. You probably run into more Lutherans in Wisconsin than anywhere else in the world (maybe even Germany?). Actually, I started with Missouri Synod for a couple years, moved to WELS for a few more and then just came back to the WELS after thriteen years in the Minnesota-based (Mankato, I think) ELS (the old Norwegian Synod).

Fordcowgirl and ScottyB,
Yes there are some Wisconsinites here. I'm in your neck of the woods ScottyB. Cleveland - right off I-43 south of Manitowoc. Also involved in hay processing.
Cowgirl, where are you from?
Perhaps a Wisconsin Chapter of FTE would be in order. Thoughts?
Also, if anyone here is into off-road, we should do a rally or something.
>I lived in Superior, WI some years ago. It is right on Lake
>Superior, that lake has the cleanest fresh water of any
>fresh water lake in the world!
I'm aware that Lk Superior is extremely clean, but suspect there may be some groundwater contamination areas given the industrial nature of the area. And actually, while Lake Superior is very clean, there are some dirty harbors. Duluth-Superior Harbor and the St. Louis River estuary have many hot spots of contamination. The whole harbor is an Area of Concern for contaminant impairment of beneficial uses as designated by the International Joint Commission. Thankfully, little if any of the contaminants appear to get into the lake.
While we're talking about lakes has anyone noticed how low the lake level is on the west side of the peninsula? I was born and raised in Door County and every trip back it appears as Green Bay keeps receeding. I recall a few years ago there was talk about selling water from the lake to western states because of their drought. I hope that thought has pasted. I'm in favor of a Wisconsin chapter. Or at the least trying to get together.
