OK now I am getting really serious about some aftermarket gears and I would like to know how big of a difference a 3.55 to 3.73 would be or even a 3.55 to 3.90 would be. My truck has a 4.2 and a 5speed manual so there isn't very much slippage in the drivetrain. I has oversized wheels and tires like stated before so it did lose some of it's low end. Since I got the tires and wheels the only time I have been able to break the tires lose is when the street was wet. The real strange thing is if I get the truck to go about 5-10mph and drop the clutch it will burn out better than from a dead stop, this leads me to suspect the gears. It has suprising bad throttle response, but once you get the truck going it just takes off.
