Frustration, elation...

Hey folks!

Part of this is , but I have to share it anyway... Well, I've patiently been trying to unsieze this old Y-Block for about 2 weeks now to no avail. Thanks to everyone who gave advice, but win some, lose some. I really wanted to drive this truck awhile before tearing into a frame-up. Last night I tried for the last time and it didn't work, so I started making plans for the teardown. Needless to say, I was pretty pi$$3d off! I came home from the shop in a horrible mood, ate dinner, and went to bed. The next morning (THIS morning), my wife woke me up all excited about something and waving something in my face. When my eyes and my yet uncaffienated mind focused enough to see what it was, I was floored. It was a pregnancy test...a POSITIVE pregnancy test! My 4 yr old son is going to be a big brother! I'm going to be a dad again! I really hope it's a girl! My wife wants a boy and girl, so if this one's a girl, maybe she'll leave me the h3ll alone about having any more kids! I love kids, but babies are work!

Anyway, just wanted to thank everyone for the help in trying to unsieze my motor. It turned into a pretty good size thread. I also wanted to share the bummer news about the motor. Most of all, of course, I wanted to share my great news about being a dad again! It's pretty scary, and not exactly the best timing, but I'm psyched!...or psycho...

Bummer on the motor. Congrats on the kid. The world is a funny place, huh?

Yea, I was pretty mad about the motor, but when you find out you're going to be a dad, everything else pales in comparison!

Congrats Code3, to you and your wife on the new baby. Kids are the greatest things in the world, a lot of trouble but worth every bit of it.

WOW! Congratulations on the family news!! that is awesome.

Just a word of advice.....
.....you have approx. 6 months tops of being able to spend money on the old truck before wife decides you need to build an addition on the house complete with all the traditional baby colors and all new furnishings. Take a good look at it and buy the expensive parts that you think you might need now. They are awfully hard to save for when every last dime is being sucked up by a gurgling, oozing, spewing, new baby.

Again, congratulations
Bobby

Congrats! Sometimes it takes a little nudge to put things in perspective. You'll get the motor issues worked out-eventually! My two daughters have put a severe kink in my truck build schedule, but I wouldn't trade the time with them for any amount progress. Soon enough, they won't want to be seen with Dad and then I can hide in the garage.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice Bobby, but this ain't my first BBQ. Besides, we're just renting this house. Ain't no way I'm going to buy a new house with 2 years left in the USAF! In 2 years, we'll be headed back down to good ol' Northwest Florida! Ahhh, it's going to feel good to be south of I-10 again! That's when I'll be going into debt up to my eyeballs and having a house built on the bay...so you're right about the money thing, but you're off by about a year and 1/2. And congrats to you UC4ME!!!!

LOL.....cool, thats just my standard advice to anyone expecting a child or getting married. My sister was a bit teed off with me when I suggested to her fiance that he go crazy and buy any toy he had been looking for before they got married while he still had money......

Life is good. The little ones are a real kick! my oldest is 16 and youngest is 12, they are still fun, and still expensive. The wife says that when I pay off the last set of braces I can buy a new motorcycle...WOOOHOOOOO!!!

Women...they just don't get it! That sounds like perfectly good advice to me!

Update!

Baby Catherine ("Cate") was born Tuesday, Febuary 20th at 8:25 AM. She was 6 pounds 13 ounces and 18 3/4 inches long. She's beautiful! Mom and baby are doing great, and I'm a proud papa once again!
