Im installing the bts valve body I have the old one out and it looks like a black plate simmaler to the transgo plate does this stay or do I pull it and install the transgo plate
that would be the one. I figured it out when I slowed down and took a looka close look at it thanks. everything is in and my buddy with a inch lb torque wrench is on his way to drop it off so hopefully in a hour or two Ill be rocking and rolling thanks
well its in and shifts very nicely almost seems to put more power to the wheels. If I had to start all over this would probably be one of the first mods I would do. Guzzle thanks for all the pics they helped a ton

Yes but not as good as the BTS trans. Had the VB then went to the trans. There is a difference.
Hard to say how long. I kinda loose track when stopping and taking a zillion pics along the way.
I suppose if someone got serious, didn't need to change fluid or filters; probably about a half hour is all. It's a pretty straight forward and simple procedure and compared to adding an external cooler, mounting brackets, hose connections, it wouldn't take any time at all.
Drain the pan; drop the pan; pop off the filter; drop the old valve body; wipe tranny fluid off head, chest and arms; pull screen filter; pop on transgo plate; stick screen filter back in and new valve body; trans filter; install pan and top fluid off.
i did the same thing about a month ago. it seriously took me about an hour to drop & clean the pan, drop the old valve body, call brian with the same question, change the valve body, torque it up, replace the filter and gasket, install the pan, torque it up, top off and clean up.
i talked to both brian and jody before doing this mod to get the chip and valve body tuned to each other. iirc, the vb was tuned to 60hp and the chip was programed to PMT-1. each new what the other was doing.
in 80econo, i do NOT feel the shifts at all. in 40hp tow, i can feel it shift, but its no where near the perception of the stock vb.
