i went to the 4 wheel parts store here in tampa, bought some of these hubs, went home to put them in, oh they go in but not far enough, i cant get them far enough in so that the snap ring will go into the grove on the axle, we even used a pry bar to push the axle out more, and still we cant see the groove,, i have super winch lockin hubs now and they are so much skinnier than the warns, so the warns are to thick, idk, and it says they will fit my truck but they dont, so wtf, now i gotta drive back to tampa and get my money back. anyone have this trouble, wut hubs do ya'll run?
I never had that problem when I replaced the hubs on my old 83 F-150 when I had it. They just fit right in. The biggest problem I have with WARN is the price. When I replaced the hubs, I paid $85 for the pair. Now they're well over $150.
I'm going to get Mile Marker hubs for Hoss to replace the stock ones. I can get them for $100 a pair. And as far as I can see, it's all the same quality.
150? damn, i got the premiums, the best ones for 100 bux even, idk how you got them in easy, cuz i compared them to the ones i have now and thier so much more deeper or wutever you call it. so idk.
only problem i have is gettin the snap ring in, is the snap ring also called the retaining ring???? heres wut the instructions say " Some early model solid front axle may not accept axle retaining rings(77.5-79 Ford's, 81-84 and some 85 Chevy/ GMC's.) Use them if they can be installed correctly(outboard of the hub body) but thier use is not mandatory and no durability loss will be suffered.",,,, so wut do ya'll think about this.
