Anyone had a problem with their power windows in the '87-'91 models? Both seem to roll down fine, the problem is they're getting stuck there...alot. It started on the passenger side (had to relpace the window...ended up breaking it), then moved to the driver side, where after ten minutes of waiting it fixed itself and rolled up fine. Finally, the problem decided to go back to the passenger side. I waited about 10 minutes and sure enough it rolled up again. I thought it might be the motors getting too hot, but the last time this happened the motor was cool to the touch. The fuses seem to have power, the wiring looks fine, does anyone else have any ideas?
Both of mine went out about the same time. The passenger side would be intermittent and one day it just quit. Drivers side didnt take much longer. Mine would go down most of the time, but goin up was the more of a problem, dang gravity. I replaced both motors and it fixed it. If theyre drawing a load on the electrical system everytime you hit the switch, then I wouldnt think its a switch problem. The motor might just about be done. Hope I could be of some help.
well i dont know, i have replaced both motors and i have the stickin problem on my pass. side. its a new motor and it works fine if i dont put it alll the way down. If i let the glass go into the door, it gets stuck and i have to wait and flick the button to get it to go up. there has to be an alignment issue but i havent gone in to fix yet

If they're the original motors, chances are the brushes in the motors are worn out or gunked up and stuck in the brush boxes. If you're gonna disassemble the door and pull 'em and can find/afford replacements, I recommend it. That's my next project on my '92. There's also a plastic filler behind the guide at the front edge of the window on the wing window post, that tends to slide out of place and make the window bind very badly. Obviously, this is going to shorten the life of the motor. You have to pull the softer guide out to see the filler bar.
