c6 slip yoke
Like timpage (c4 post below), I'm being told by the shop that's rebuilding my c6 that I will need a new splined slip yoke because the one on the c6 is larger than the one on my 3-speed. He's never been under my truck, but he has been doing tranny work for 25 years and likely has seen one like it.
Is there really a difference between manual and auto tranny slip yokes for our trucks? Ken, JOW, BBT, et al, have you guys ever had to change this when you've swapped out 3-speeds for c6's?

c6 slip yoke
yes there is a big difference. the yoke is longer and quite a bit bigger. i just converted my 3 sdp to c6 over winter. i went to a junkyard and got a riveshaft off of a mid 70's f100 with a c6. direct boltin and it only cost me $20.00 plus new u joints.
